Cuba is a country with a thriving music culture that unfortunately, for political reasons, is kept out of US sight. Walk down the streets of Old Havana and you will here the traditional son music of the rural poor, salsa-infused reggaeton, and underground reggae and hip-hop. Music and dance are the way of life here, and I'm going to try and bring some of that feeling back with me to the States, despite the embargo.

2 oz Havana Club or Santiago de Cuba rum
juice of 1/2 limes
Tukola or Fiesta Cola--if you must, Coca-Cola

Pour lime juice into a highball glass over ice cubes. Add rum, fill with cola, stir, serve and say:

Hasta la victoria siempre, ¡Patria o Muerte!

Today's show: Beat the Winter Cold with a Healthy Asparagus Cream

Tired of always eating out? Couldn't boil an egg even if your life depended on it? No worries, College Kitchen will teach you all about cooking at home.

Feeling a little low on energy? Not getting enough vitamins?

Don't worry, radio chef Sanne Rossen will teach you how to make a delicious (and cheap!) asparagus cream that will boost your energy levels.

Here's what you need:

1 pound of asparagus, preferably fresh and green (that's the healthy stuff!)

3½ ounces of cream cheese (yummy!)

½ cup of white wine

3 cups of vegetable stock

A little salt and pepper to bring out the good flavor.

Ready to get healthier in only half an hour?

Bring vegetable stock and white wine to boil on medium heat. Wash and cut the asparagus into small pieces (about an inch long). Add the asaparagus to the boiling pot and let them boil for about 10 minutes. Take the pot off the heat and blend the content until it's smooth and creamy. Put the pot back on the stove, this time on low-medium heat. Add the cream cheese and let it melt slowly. Finally, add salt and pepper, and voila - you have a quick healthy meal!
